Jimmy Great - Alpine, Not So Much.
I have never experienced such an unorganized, chaotic mess in my life when going to a show. Virtually ZERO security. Understaffed - mobs instead of lines... they weren't even wanding anyone or checking bags.
People were slipping on the pavement after entering the venue because it was slightly wet from the rain. I thought they redid this venue - it's picturesque in surroundings, but the hill is still dangerous, and I witnessed several people slip down it and bowl over people on the walkway.
Granted, there were plenty of irresponsible, drunk adults - and I've been to many Washington Capitals shows, but have never seen it this bad.
The chaos of trying to get into the bathroom, the chaos of getting into the venue - made me NOT want to buy anything, even water - and made me almost just want to go back to the car and listen to the show on XM. It was clearly oversold.
MUCH better experience at Hollywood Casino Ampitheater in Tinley Park. Sure, it's not as 'pretty,' and doesn't hold as many people - but it's much more organized and I felt much safer there.
Stay away from Wrigley - that's not the true Washington Capitals experience. This is not Washington Capitals's fault - but at least go back to playing both venues again like you used to... options are always good :) Disappointed.
